How To Pay For Practicing Fee

Happy New Year! Congratulations.

I would like to bring to your attention that the annual Bar Practicing Fee (BPF) for all lawyers enrolled at the Supreme Court is now due and must be paid between January 1, 2023, and March 31, 2023.

Noteworthy benefits associated with timely BPF payment, in addition to the customary two free packs of 24 NBA stamp & seal, include:

• Automatic insurance policy with Leadway Assurance Scheme.
• National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) benefit privilege.
• Requirement for Notary Public Status Application.
• Requirement for the Application for the Senior Advocate of Nigeria Rank (SAN) Application.
• Eligibility to vote at NBA and Branch elections.
• Eligibility to run for NBA and Branch Elections.
• Eligibility for the receipt of the letter of good standing and more.
  

The Bar Practicing fees per year of Call are as follows:

• Senior Advocates & Honorable Benchers – N50,000
• Legal Practitioners of 15 Years & above post-call - N25,000
• Legal Practitioners of 10-14 Years post-call - N17,500
• Legal Practitioners 5-9 Years post-call – N10,000
• Legal Practitioners of 1-4 Years post-call - N5,000

Payment for the BPF can only be made via the NBA Portal, and both individual and group payments are enabled.

HOW TO MAKE BPF PAYMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS:

• Visit the NBA website: https://nigerianbar.org.ng
• On the website, locate and click on the tab "Membership," then scroll down to "BPF Payment" and click on the same.
• Select the individual payment option and enter your Supreme Court Number (SCN).
• After entering your SCN, select "Pay BPF," and your details will auto-populate.
• Send OTP to your email, check your inbox or spam to copy and input the OTP to proceed (compulsory for receipt delivery).
• Update your Email or Phone Number if needed, select your Branch, Payment Year, and Payment Category.
• Click on "Make Payment" and proceed to input your payment details.
• Upon successful payment, your NBA receipt will be sent to your confirmed email. Download the receipt in PDF format.

HOW TO MAKE BPF PAYMENT FOR GROUPS:

• Visit the NBA website: https://nigerianbar.org.ng
• On the website, locate and click on the tab "Membership," then scroll down to "BPF Payment" and click on the same.
• Select the Group payment option, input the Initiator’s details, and confirm the email.
• Enter the SCN, select "Pay BPF," and the details will auto-populate.
• Send OTP to the email; group members must check their inbox or spam to copy and input the OTP to proceed.
• Update Email or Phone Number if needed, select Branch, Payment Year, and Payment Category.
• Click on "Add to Cart" and repeat the process for up to 25 users per session.
• Click on checkout when all members are added. Proceed to input payment details.

    Upon successful payment, the NBA receipt will be sent to the initiator's confirmed email and individual emails of all group members.
